Novotel Sydney Rooty Hill - Media

refurbishment news

The Novotel brand is synonymous with quality and as one of the most recognised hotel brands in Australia it was a natural fit to one of the country’s most recognised clubs, Rooty Hill RSL.

We are very excited to announce that the Clubs Hotel is now part of the global Novotel network. The rebranding will come with a multi-million dollar refurbishment to upgrade the rooms to Novotel standard and will see the hotel revitalised and refreshed for the new decade.

Novotel is the most popular and most visited international hotel brand in Australia, according to a recent report by Roy Morgan Research. The move to Novotel will see Rooty Hill become part of a global network of more than 400 hotels in 61 countries across the world. The Novotel brand is also very strong in Australia, with no fewer than 22 hotels in key city and resort destinations. Novotel is the leader in the four-star market, targeting the business and meetings/conferences sector, as well as having a large focus on leisure and family travel with its ‘Family & Novotel’ initiative. The brand is also known as “the home of sport” so it seemed a perfect fit to align the brand with the Club.

The redevelopment of the hotel will happen in two stages, starting with a soft refurbishment to the top two floors and then working across all rooms, with a completion date expected in December 2010. Following this the conference rooms, restaurant and public areas will be refurbished. This project will take the hotel to the next level at a time when the entire precinct of Rooty Hill RSL is being developed to create one of the most exciting entertainment and sporting hubs in greater Sydney. “The Novotel brand is synonymous with quality and as one of the most recognised hotel brands in Australia. It was a natural fit to one of the countries most recognised clubs. The boards decision to move to the Novotel brand shows a further commitment to the ongoing development of the property as a true leisure and entertainment precinct” said Richard Errington, CEO of Rooty Hill RSL. “We are pleased to be able to offer an even higher level of service to our members and look forward to a stronger working relationship with our new hotel partners”.

Changing from the previous hotel branding to Accor’s Novotel brand will mean a more hands-on approach to managing and distributing the hotel and will help to breathe new life into the business.

A true pioneer in the hotel sector, the Novotel brand is famous for setting the standard in upper midscale hospitality and we are sure members will be very excited when they see the changes that will be implemented over the coming year.

Accor, the parent company of Novotel, is the European leader and a major global group in hotels, with over 4000 hotels and nearly half a million rooms in 90 countries around the world. For more information on Accor or the Novotel brand go to www.accorhotels.com
